NEW YORK, N.Y., February 4, 2022 – The Monroe Express men's track and field squad brought a ton of momentum off of record-setting performances in Beantown a week ago against a competitive field on Friday at The NYC DIII Invitational at The Armory in New York, New York. The Express were on the card for five different events on the afternoon against the NCAA Division III competition and was the only other two-year school alongside Region 15 member Queensborough Community College and made a statement finishing in the top ten in three different events.
Fresh off of a record-setting mark a week ago, The Men's 4x400 relay team of
Jeremiah Herbert (Queens Village, N.Y.),
Danario Douglas (Prospect District Hanover, Jamaica),
Wayne Stephenson (Falmouth, Jamaica), and
Romar Scott (Whithorn, Jamaica) put up another outstanding performance finishing second behind another Division III powerhouse TCNJ with a time of 3:25.19.
In the individual competition,
Douglas and
Herbert had their best showings of the season, finishing third and seventh out of 36 runners in the Men's 400-meter dash with times of 51.29 and 51.99.
Jabari Davis-Underwood finished behind the other two in 13th with a time of 53.50 while finishing 26th in the Men's 200-meter dash with 24.20.
Stephenson and
Scott also laced it up in the Men's 800 meter, finishing 12th and 16th with times of 2:00.91 and 2:02.74.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 36 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports program, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 17 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
