STATEN ISLAND, N.Y., February 18, 2022 –  The Monroe Express track and field team competed at the 2022 Club Indoor Championship Invitational on Friday evening at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. The Express competed in three events, including 200 meters for men and women.
 
The men's track and field team placed two runners in the top ten in the 800 meters, with Romar Scott (Whithorn, Jamaica) putting up the best individual performance for the men's track and field squad on the night, clocking in with a career-best time of 2:00.00 and a fifth-place finish earning a medal. Wayne Stephenson (Falmouth, Jamaica) followed right behind in seventh with a time of 2:01.00.
 
Danario Douglas (Prospect District Hanover, Jamaica) recorded his fourth top ten finish this season in the 600 meters crossing the finish line in ninth place with a time of 1:25.00, and Jeremiah Herbert (Queens Village, N.Y.) came in 11th with a time of 1:24.00.
 
Jabari Davis-Underwood (New York, New York) competed in the 200 meters putting up a ninth-place finish and a time of 52.14.
 
Angre Cattouse (Bronx, New York) competed in the 200 meters for the women finishing eighth and registering a time of 28.65.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 36 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports program, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 17 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
