NEW YORK, N.Y., January 15, 2022 – The Monroe College Express men's track and field squad laced it up against a talented field at the HBCU Showcase on Saturday at the New Balance T & F Center in New York, New York.
Danario Douglas (Prospect District Hanover, Jamaica) put forth his best individual effort of the year in the men's 800-meter run finishing fourth out of 11 runners with a time of 2:04.04.
Douglas followed up that effort alongside
Jeremiah Herbert (Queens Village, N.Y.),
Romar Scott (Whithorn, Jamaica), and
Ethanael Elliot (Portmore, Jamaica) for another fourth-place finish the in men's 4 x 400 relay with a time of 3:29.61.
Herbert also competed in the Men's 400-meter dash, where he finished 15th with a time of 52.69.
The Express return to the starting line next Friday, January 21, at the Ramapo Opener at 10 a.m. at the Armory in New York, New York. For more information, please visit the

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 36 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports program, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 17 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
