BRONX – Salim Anas of the Monroe University – Bronx men's soccer team has been named the Region 15 Division III Men's Soccer Athlete of the Month.

During the month of October, Anas led the Express to a road win in the Region 15 Quarterfinal round over nationally ranked No. 10 Nassau Community College, 2-0, to advance to the regional semifinals.
This past month, Anas scored five goals and tallied three assists. The sophomore forward produced a hat trick and added a provider against Dutchess Community College back on October 21.
Thanks to his strong season, Anas was named All-Region 15 Honorable Mention.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
