BRONX - The Monroe College - Bronx men's soccer team is set to take on Queensborough Community College, at Flowers Park Soccer Field, on Saturday, September 23. The NJCAA Region 15 contest will begin at 1:00 p.m. Both teams are battling for a chance to make it to the Region 15 Tournament and are each just outside of the playoff picture. here. The top six teams in the regional standings to finish the regular season will earn a spot in the Region 15 Postseason. Do note that Ulster Community College recently joined Region 15.

The Express (1-3-1, 1-3-1 Region 15) are coming off a 3-0 defeat by the hands of nationally ranked No. 6 Suffolk County Community College, at Flowers Park Soccer Field, this past Thursday afternoon. Freshman goalkeeper
Krit Raj Maharjan made a career-high 11 saves to keep Monroe - Bronx in the contest.
Leading the way for the Express has been sophomore defender
Lorenz Utz who has netted four goals this season. Second-year defender
James Gallagher has produced a goal and added two assists so far in 2023.
The Tigers (2-3-1, 2-3-1 Region 15) earned a convincing 6-1 victory at home over Borough of Manhattan Community College, back on September 19, before dropping a home contest to Kingsborough Community College, 5-1, this past Thursday.
Queensborough has been led by freshman forward Christopher Maldonado as he already has three goals and just as many assists in six matches played so far this season. Rookie forward Jefferson Cubias and first-year midfielder Adan Montiel each have a trio of goals as well, with the former adding an assist.
Monroe - Bronx is 2-3 all-time in head-to-head matchups with Queensborough.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
