BRONX – The Monroe University – Bronx Athletics Department is pleased to announce the promotion of
Chayanne Carty to Assistant Director of Athletics. Carty was previously the Athletics Compliance and Business Manager for the Express, a position he held since June of 2025. Carty began his new role this past Monday.
As Assistant Athletic Director, Carty will assist with the management, coordination, and administration of the competitive NJCAA Division III Monroe University – Bronx athletics program. He will also assist the Director of Athletics
David Spiegel with general administration and daily operations of the athletic department to provide a well-rounded experience for all student-athletes, as well as helping with game-day preparation, internal operations, transportation operations, and with external and community relations.
"I am excited to be the Assistant Athletic Director at Monroe University," Carty said. "I am committed to developing student athletes and building a culture of excellence."
In his previous role at Monroe – Bronx, Carty was responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with the NJCAA, Region 15, and institutional rules and regulations.
Carty also developed and monitored the budgets for the Express athletics programs in coordination with the Athletic Director and the finance office.
Carty came to the Bronx campus after many years of service to the Monroe University – New Rochelle Athletics Department. Most recently, he was the Facilities and Events Assistant for the Mustangs. In his role, he orchestrated event preparation and conducted year-round field maintenance. He also coordinated multiple sporting events as he handled scheduling, logistics, and communication with the teams and officials. Carty assisted in overseeing facility operations during events to ensure optimal conditions for athletes and spectators.
A jack of all trades, Carty also helped Monroe – New Rochelle as a Sports Information Assistant (2022-2025) where he managed statistical data for the Mustangs men's soccer, women's soccer, and baseball teams. He also updated content on the Monroe Mustangs' website and social media channels. During that stretch, Carty worked with the Mustangs' baseball program as the Graduate Assistant Coach.
Earlier in his Monroe – New Rochelle career, Carty served as the Assistant Athletics Admissions Counselor in 2022 and worked as the Assistant Compliance Officer/Intern in 2021.
As a student-athlete, Carty played in the outfield for the Monroe – New Rochelle junior varsity baseball program during the 2019 and 2021 seasons.
"Chayanne has filled every role imaginable in both of our Monroe University Athletic Departments," Spiegel said. "He's a great fit to take over this role and I'm excited to see his continued growth."
Residing in New Rochelle, N.Y., Carty earned his bachelor's degree in sports management at Monroe University – New Rochelle in August of 2021. He received his master's degree in business administration/business analytics from the same institution in December of 2022.
