BRONX – The Monroe University – Bronx Athletics Department is proud to announce the hiring of
Sayeda Afnim for the role of Athletics Business and Compliance Manager. She began her role on April 13, 2026 and will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with the NJCAA, Region 15, and institutional rules and regulations. Afnim will also develop and monitor budgets for the Express athletics programs in coordination with the Athletics Director and the finance office.
"This role with the Monroe Express is a meaningful step forward for me," Afnim said. "I'm eager to make an impact by strengthening compliance, improving operations, and helping the organization grow both on and off the field."
No stranger to the Monroe University family, Afnim previously worked for the Monroe – New Rochelle Athletics Department in the athletics compliance office from September of 2022 until April of 2026. She climbed the ladder as she started out as a compliance intern, then became a graduate assistant in the compliance department, and then was promoted to the full-time role of Athletics Compliance Officer.
During her time in the compliance office with the Mustangs, she ensured that the department followed all the rules and regulations set by the NJCAA. She also developed and implemented policies and procedures to ensure coaches, student-athletes, and the staff understood and followed compliance regulations regarding recruiting, eligibility, scholarships, etc.

Currently residing in New Rochelle, N.Y., Afnim earned both her bachelor's degree in computer information systems (December of 2022) and master's degree in data science (December of 2024) from Monroe University.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
