Monroe also earned a home win over the defending Region 15 Champion Hostos Community College (97-48) back on December 2, and a road victory over Bronx Community College (72-57) on December 4.
"I'm really appreciative of my staff and players," Ling said. "Being named (WHoopDirt.com) Coach of the Week is a credit to the work everyone has put in to help us get off to a great start this season."
Monroe is currently 8-0 in Region 15 play, 12-1 overall, and remains undefeated against NJCAA Division III teams so far this year. Strong defense is a big reason why as the Express lead the country with 43.0 turnovers by the opposition per game and 27.3 steals per contest.
