Beverly Williams has been selected as the NJCAA Division III Player of the Week. The NJCAA made the official announcement on Wednesday morning which can be seen

Williams led the now-nationally ranked No. 6 Monroe Express to a 3-0 Region 15 record this week. In the win over the defending champion Hostos Community College back on Tuesday, December 2, she scored 26 points, grabbed nine rebounds, forced just as many steals, and dished out seven assists. Two nights later at Bronx Community College, she added 19 points and five steals.
Her big performance came against nationally ranked No. 14 Kingsborough Community College this past Sunday (December 7), who was also undefeated in regional play entering the game. In the battle for first place and of nationally ranked teams,
Williams netted a game-high 26 points, went 6-for-9 from three including two key triples that helped Monroe rally from a nine-point fourth-quarter hole, plus she snatched five boards and forced four steals. She also grabbed a key defensive rebound off a missed free throw with 3.6 seconds left to secure a one-point lead for Monroe. Thanks to her strong outing, the Express won a tight game, 59-58.
Williams is a big reason why Monroe is 8-0 in the region, 12-1 overall, and is undefeated against NJCAA Division III teams this season.
