New Rochelle, N.Y., January 9, 2020 – The Monroe College Express women's basketball team fell to Lackawanna College, 77-46, in non-conference action on Thursday night at the Monroe Athletic Complex.
"Lackawanna was a very talented team, both in the front court and back court. It is good experience for us to compete on this level. It will certainly help us improve. I look forward to getting back to practice tomorrow, adjusting a few things and seeing how the team responds on Saturday." – Head Coach

Quanisha Griffin had another strong game for the Express as she recorded 21 points and six rebounds. Rookie
Barbara Valentin recorded nine points, 11 rebounds, and two assists. Freshman
Ramatoulaye Diallo pulled down a season-high nine rebounds and scored four points in the contest.

Anya Shepherd scored a season-high seven points and grabbed two rebounds.
Ashley Molina finished the evening with five points and seven rebounds
In the contest, the Falcons held a 48-45 edge on the glass and outshot the Express 41.7% to 23.8%.
Up next, the Express squares off with Bunker Hill Community College on Saturday, Jan. 11 on the road.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 30 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has 11 varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
