BRONX – The Monroe University – Bronx baseball team will enter the Region 15 Double-Elimination Tournament as the top seed. The action begins with the first round on Thursday afternoon against #4-seed Bronx Community College. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. at Middle Country Park Field 3, in Selden, N.Y.

The winner will move on to the next round, while the non-winner will drop down to the elimination bracket. Both the Express and Broncos will play a second game on Thursday at around 6:30 p.m. The opponent and the bracket they will compete in during the second contest will depend on the result of the 3 p.m. clash.

The Express (23-13, 15-3) won all three games over the Broncos (10-14, 9-9 Region 15) during the 2026 regular season. The Express were victorious in the first game, 10-0, at Flowers Park on March 26. Then, the Blue and Gold claimed both ends of the twin bill against the Broncos (14-3 and 4-1) at Ohio Field on March 28.
Leading the way for the Express this season has been
Pablo Aquino who is hitting .363 with an OPS of 1.220. He has drilled six home runs, lined 20 extra-base hits, scored 57 times, drove in 42 runs, stole 28 bases out of 31 attempts, and worked 24 walks.
On the mound for Monroe,
Adrian Hernandez has thrown two no-hitters this year, including one against Bronx on March 26. He is 3-0, pitched two complete games, and struck out 45 batters during his rookie season.
For Bronx, Lenox Rondon has an on-base percentage of .711, is slugging .933, has an OPS of 1.644, is producing a batting average of .583, scored 37 times, and drove in 24 runs.
In terms of pitching for the Broncos, Juan Santos is 6-2 with six complete games and 65 strikeouts.
