BRONX – Monroe University – Bronx men's basketball sophomore standout Steven McGriff earned Region 15 Division III Men's Basketball Athlete of the Month Honorable Mention accolades for the third time this year. He has earned this honor for the months of November, January, and now February. The region made the official announcement on Friday evening which can be seen here.

McGriff helped lead the Express to its second straight appearance in the Region 15 Championship Game. The Brooklyn native earned a spot on the All-Region first team as well as the Region 15 All-Tournament team.

In terms of stats, McGriff produced two double-doubles in February. The second-year star reached double figures in scoring six times and produced at least 10 rebounds three times this month.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
