Express Women's Volleyball Announces 2025 Schedule

BRONX – Monroe University – Bronx Women's Volleyball Head Coach Odaly Aponte-Orta has announced the team's 2025 regular season schedule which can be viewed here. The schedule is subject to change.

The defending three-time District Champion Monroe – Bronx Express will play 21 matches during the regular season. Five of the matches will be at home, seven will take place on the road, and nine will count as neutral contests. The Express will play 16 matches against Region 15 opponents.

The 2025 campaign will kick off on August 30 with a pair of neutral matches on the campus of Dutchess Community College. Monroe will take on national powerhouse Finger Lakes Community College at noon, which is a rematch from last year's NJCAA National Tournament First-Round matchup. Later that day, the Express will compete against Hudson Valley Community College at 2:00 p.m.

Monroe's home opener will be the next day on August 31 against Roxbury Community College. First serve at Monsignor Scanlan Gymnasium will be at 12:00 p.m.

After the home opener, the Express will embark on a four-match road trip, including the Region 15 Opener against Kingsborough Community College, out in Brooklyn, N.Y., on September 11 beginning at 6:00 p.m. The road trip ends with a regional matchup against LaGuardia Community College, out in Long Island City, N.Y., on September 20 at 1:30 p.m.

The first Region 15 Double Dual of the year is scheduled for September 27 on the campus of Nassau Community College. Monroe battles Westchester Community College, in a rematch of the 2024 Region 15 Quarterfinals, at 12:00 p.m. After that, the Express will take on Rockland Community College at 1:30 p.m.

Monroe – Bronx will battle the defending Region 15 Champion Nassau Community College Lions twice during the regular season. The first rematch of the 2024 Regional Championship encounter will be played at Monsignor Scanlan Gymnasium on October 4 at 12:00 p.m. The second head-to-head battle will be on October 9, at Nassau's Main Gym, starting at 7:00 p.m.

The final regular season home match for the Express will be on October 22 against Kingsborough at Monsignor Scanlan Gymnasium. The contest will start at 7:00 p.m.

Monroe will conclude the 2025 regular season on October 25 with regional matches against Fashion Institute of Technology (12:00 p.m.) and Borough of Manhattan Community College (1:30 p.m.) on the campus of Nassau Community College.

Monroe - Bronx will aim to qualify for the Region 15 Postseason. The quarterfinal match will occur on October 30 at the higher seed. The semifinal round will take place inside the Nassau Main Gym on November 1. The championship contest is scheduled for later that afternoon in the same location.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe University marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
