Express Men's Volleyball to Battle Nassau in Region 15 Semifinal on Saturday; Will Potentially Compete in National Invitational Next Week

BRONX – The No. 4-seed Monroe University – Bronx men's volleyball team will take on top-seeded Nassau Community College in the semifinal round of the Region 15 Tournament on Saturday afternoon. First serve at Nassau Main Gym is set for 12:00 p.m.

Both semifinal matches and the championship contest will take place on the same day at Nassau Main Gym. #3-Seed Borough of Manhattan Community College will battle #2-Seed and defending Region 15 Champion Monroe University – New Rochelle in the other semifinal match at 2:00 p.m. The two winners will play each other for the regional championship at 4:00 p.m.

Nassau will be providing live stats and live video for all the contests on Saturday.

The Lions won both regular season contests over the Express this year and are 4-0 all-time against the Blue and Gold. 

Looking ahead, Monroe – Bronx registered to compete in the National Invitational hosted by Finger Lakes Community College which will take place April 4-6. The full bracket will be announced at this link today (Thursday) at 3:00 p.m. The full post by NJCAA Volleyball can be viewed here

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY 
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe University marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
