BRONX – Monroe University – Bronx men's volleyball star
Frandie Martin earned Region 15 Athlete of the Month Honorable Mention accolades. The announcement was made on Wednesday afternoon.

Martin was named to the NJCAA All-Tournament team. The rookie opposite hitter helped lead the Express to a seventh-place win over Borough of Manhattan Community College in five sets during the inaugural NJCAA Men's Volleyball Championship Tournament by tallying 12 kills (.292 hitting percentage), three blocks, a trio of digs, and just as many assists. Martin produced 52 kills during the month (2.74 kills per set).
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
