BRONX – Region 15 released its All-Region team on Tuesday afternoon and the nationally ranked No. 12 Monroe University – Bronx women's basketball team is heavily represented. Freshman
Beverly Williams made the All-Region first team, while sophomore
Makira Bunsie landed on the All-Region second team. Classmate
Cheyenne Hoxie earned a spot on the Region 15 All-Sportsmanship team. The full announcement from Region 15 can be seen

Willams has been leading the way for Monroe - Bronx this year with averages of 15.6 points, 3.8 steals, 3.5 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game. She was named to the Northeast JUCO Cup All-Tournament team back on November 11 on the campus of Massasoit Community College.
Bunsie was named the NJCAA Division III National Player of the Week on December 4. She has produced eight double-doubles so far this season and is generating 13.0 points and 8.3 boards per contest.
Hoxie has drained 20 shots from beyond the arc this season and has contributed off the bench throughout the year.
The Express will take on Suffolk County Community College in the first round of the Region 15 Tournament tonight. Tipoff at Monroe Athletic Complex is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe University marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
