BRONX – The fifth-seeded Monroe College – Bronx men's volleyball team will battle fourth-seeded Kingsborough Community College, in the Region 15 Play-In match at Kingsborough CC Gymnasium, on Tuesday evening.

The winner of the play-in match will battle top-seeded Monroe College – New Rochelle in the Region 15 Semifinal contest, at the Monroe Athletic Complex, on Saturday afternoon. The championship match will take place later that Saturday night.
 
Monroe – Bronx (1-20) and Kingsborough (1-9) split their head-to-head matchups during the regular season. The Wave won the first match, 3-1, at the Monroe Athletic Complex back on March 2. In the second matchup, on March 13, the Express knocked off the Wave, 3-1, out in Brooklyn to earn their first victory in program history. 
 
Leading the way for Monroe this season has been freshman middle blocker Jeremy Rivera-Aponte who is slamming home 2.29 kills and producing 1.35 digs per set. He also has 53 total blocks this year.
 
Propelling Kingsborough this season has been freshman opposite hitter Kayia Requena who is scoring 2.08 kills and generating 2.50 digs per set.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
