BRONX - The Monroe College - Bronx men's basketball team will travel down the road to take on local Region 15-rival Bronx Community College on Tuesday evening. Tipoff at Alumni Gymnasium is set for 6:00 p.m.

In the updated Region 15 standings, the Express sit in fourth place with a regional record of 6-4 (12-9 overall). The top eight teams in the standings at the end of the regular season will qualify for the Region 15 Championships. If the regular season ended today, Monroe would have home-court advantage in the quarterfinal round. The Broncos (3-18, 2-11 Region 15) are currently outside of the playoff picture. Monroe - Bronx will look to build momentum coming off a 72-62 Region 15 victory on its home court over Kingsborough Community College this past Thursday. Leading the way for the Express this season has been sophomore forward
Abubakar Kromah who is generating 20.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. Second-year guard
Jovan Young is netting 12.7 points per outing for the Blue and Gold.
Bronx CC is looking to snap its 11-game winless streak. They will be led by sophomore forward Herbert Gary who is scoring 11.8 points and grabbing 8.4 rebounds per contest. Rookie guard James Wenzel is having a very productive season for the Broncos with 10.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game.
Monroe - Bronx is 8-4 all-time against Bronx CC, and currently has a four-game winning streak over the Broncos across the past two seasons.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
