BRONX – The Monroe College – Bronx men's basketball team will take on NJCAA Division II Rockland Community College, up in Suffern, N.Y., on Saturday, December 9. Tipoff at Rockland CC Gymnasium is set for 2:00 p.m.

The Express (6-5) enter the contest winning two of their last three games, most recently earning an impressive 92-83 triumph over Hostos Community College, in Region 15 play at Monsignor Scanlan Gymnasium, back on Tuesday, December 5.
Leading the way for the Express this year has been sophomore forward
Abubakar Kromah who is averaging 20.9 points, 9.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 2.1 steals per contest. Second-year guard
Jovan Young is scoring 14.5 points an outing.
Rockland (3-6) is coming off a convincing victory on its home court over Ulster County Community College, 99-72, back on Thursday, December 7.
Leading the way for the Hawks this season has been sophomore guard Tayejon Lynch who is averaging 20.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 2.1 steals per contest. Second-year forward Emmanuel Barkor is generating 16.8 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.
Monroe – Bronx is 4-2 all-time against Rockland.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
