No. 11 Express Women's Basketball Falls to NJCAA Division II Nationally Ranked No. 15 Union College

CRANFORD, N.J. - The nationally ranked No. 11 Monroe College - Bronx women's basketball team of NJCAA Division III dropped its contest to NJCAA Division II nationally ranked No. 15 Union College, 120-30, at Union College Gymnasium on Saturday, November 11. The Express drop to 1-2 overall, with both losses coming against nationally ranked NJCAA Division II opponents. The Owls begin their season 1-0.

Leading the way for the Express was freshman guard Angeleny Cobos who scored a team-high eight points, while rookie guard Tiffany Newsome added seven points and three boards. First-year guard Daysiah Smith and sophomore forward Kristina Poitier-Wells each netted four points, with the latter bringing down five rebounds.

Monroe - Bronx will battle Borough of Manhattan Community College, in a Region 15 matchup at Monsignor Scanlan Gymnasium, on Thursday, November 16. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
