BROOKLYN, NY –  Monroe Express women's basketball have stayed undefeated in Region 15 play this season, reaching 10-0 with a convincing victory against the Kingsborough Community College Wave. The final score was 85-22, and the Express' record improves to 14-7 (10-0 Region 15) and the Wave fall to 5-10 (5-9 Region 15). Monroe has achieved 10 consecutive conference victories without a loss for the first time in program history.

In an all-around team effort, Ariel Johnson led the Express effort with 16 points, five steals and one assist. Crystal Traverso followed with 13 points, four assists and one steal, going 7/7 from the free throw line. Sierra Jones and Taina Maldonado both scored 11 points, with Jones adding two assists, one steal and one rebound and Maldonado with four rebounds, two assists and one steal. Anastasia Davis added eight points, five steals, four rebounds and one assist while Fatima Thompson poured in eight points as well, with three rebounds and two assists.

The Express take to the road Saturday (Jan. 28) for a contest against the Raritan Valley Community College Lions in North Branch, NJ at 4 PM.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 35 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 14 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
