CATONSVILLE, MD – Monroe Express women's basketball concluded their brief Maryland road trip Sunday evening, with a 77-66 defeat against the CCBC-Catonsville Cardinals inside Jack Manley Wellness and Athletic Center. The Express fall to 13-7, and the Cardinals improve to 8-5.
Sierra Jones led the Express with 18 points, two rebounds, two steals and one assist. Aleah James was closely behind with 11 points, four assists and three rebounds. Janay Legagneur added nine points, eight rebounds and five assists.
The Express hit the road Thursday (Jan. 26) to take on the Kingsborough Community College Wave in a Region 15 contest inside KBCC Gymnasium at 6 PM.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 35 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 14 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
