Monroe Express Men’s Soccer Bounces Back With Win Against Queensborough

The Express return home Thursday (Sept. 29) with a home contest against Rockland County Community College

BAYSIDE, NY – Following a hard-fought road match versus  the Suffolk County Community College Sharks, Monroe-Bronx men's soccer pulled off a 2-0 victory against the Queensborough Community College Tigers in conference play. This raises the Express' winning streak against the Tigers to two, stemming back to a 10-0 win during the 2021 season.

Tom Hendrickson slotted one in from Sebastian Zamorski at the 23 minute mark in the first half. The Express held control of the matchup with a Federico Sandoval score off of Hugo Barbiero

Monroe-Bronx goalkeeper Alessio Pirrello registered one second save, as the Express field defense limited scoring attempts by the Tigers. 

In all, the Express totaled five shots and four corner kicks in the match.

The Express return to play Thursday (Sept. 29) for conference play against Rockland County Community College at City Park in New Rochelle, NY.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 35 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 14 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
