LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J., April 24, 2022 – The Monroe College Express women's and men's track and field teams competed at the Rider University Invitational on Saturday over in New Jersey.

WOMEN'S RESULTS
Lamoy Duffus had a busy day in a pair of field events on Saturday. She competed in the long jump, improving her qualifying mark for the 2022 NJCAA Div. III Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a jump of 4.95 meters. Duffus also competed in the triple jump, jumping a distance of 10.36 meters, once again improving her qualifying mark in the event.

Angre Cattouse also competed in two events on Saturday. Cattouse ran in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing in 20.13 seconds. She also joined Duffus in the long jump, making a best jump of 4.49 meters.

MEN'S RESULTS
The Express men competed in three different events on Saturday. Teheim Richards represented Monroe in the 400-meter dash, finishing in 1:00.20.

Wayne Stephenson,
Jeremiah Herbert and
Ethanael Elliott all ran in the 800-meter run. Stephenson was the first Express athlete to cross the line, finishing in 2:02.76. Herbert clocked in at 2:04.16 in his first 800m attempt of the outdoor season, earning qualification for the NJCAA Championships in the event. Elliott finished the race in 2:20.65 to set a new personal-best time.

Scott Romar competed in Saturday's 1,500-meter run. He finished the race with a time of 4:21.68, a new season-best time.

The Express are scheduled to compete next in the prestigious Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. The three-day event begins on Thursday, April 28.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 35 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 14 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
