New Rochelle, NY, February 11, 2021 – The Monroe Express JV men's basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak with a late second-half rally to upend Herkimer,90-85, on Friday night at the Monroe Athletic Complex. The Express improve to 5-4 on the season with the win.
Four players put up double-digit scoring efforts, and two had 20 point games led by sophomore
Audley Falconer (Bronx, New York) who posted a game and career-high 22 points. Freshman
Chamarri Baskerville (Queens, New York), who posted a game and career-high 22 points. Freshman
Darius Rivers (Bronx, New York) and Jean Carlos scored 14 points and 12 points, respectively. Freshman
Jordan Wilson (Peekskill, New York) also brought down a game and career-high 14 rebounds.
Falconer also led the team with three assists.
After a competitive first half was back and forth featuring six different lead changes and two ties, Herkimer built their lead to 10, 41-31 on a Deandre Floyd jumper at 2:55. However, the Express finished strong using a 10-2 run to cut the deficit down to two, 43-41 on Damon Brooks put back with 39 seconds left going into halftime.
Monroe-Bronx started the second half off with a bang constructing a 16-6 run to build their lead to eight, 57-49 at 14:36, the largest of the night on a
Falconer jumper. Herkimer responded with a 15-6 run to retake the lead 64-63 on a Deandre Floyd layup at 9:41. After a lead change and three ties, Herkimer grabbed the lead 80-79 on a Natrell Green three-pointer at 3:44 and extended it to 82-79 on a Deandre Floyd three-pointer at 3:19. The Express used an 11-3 run to regain the lead 84-82 at 2:11 on a
Wilson three-pointer and motoring to victory from there 90-85.
For Herkimer CC, three players registered double-digit scoring efforts, and two had 20 point performances, with Deandre Floyd leading the way with a game-high 28 points. Avion Harris scored 20 points and put up a game-high six assists and five steals. Natrell Green drained 18 points, and
Harris also hauled down a team-high seven rebounds.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 36 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports program, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I).
