Monroe-Express JV Women’s Basketball Wins Second Straight on the Road

The Express return to the court Saturday (Nov. 12) against Monroe Mustangs JV for a conference stint

Box Score LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY – Monroe Express JV women's basketball continued their strong start for the season Tuesday evening, with a 66-22 victory over SUNY Sullivan JV in Loch Sheldrake, NY. Monroe-Bronx have won their first two games of the season for the first time in program history. With the victory, the Express' record improves to 2-0.

After a very closely contested game against Yale Club, the Express put their foot on the gas for all four quarters to complete their 44-point win on the road. In a strongly defensive outing, Monroe-Bronx limited Sullivan to only one double-digit scorer, in which Rose Bare had 13 points.

The Express produced three double-digit scorers, with Kuari Green leading the way with another standout performance producing 16 points. Aiyana Aybar and Esmerelda Guzman both registered 10 points. 

Monroe-Bronx returns to the court Saturday (Nov. 12) against Monroe Mustangs JV inside the Monroe Athletic Complex at 1 PM in New Rochelle, NY.


ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 35 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 14 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
