GARDEN CITY, N.Y., May 6, 2021 –
Andres Lora netted the only goal of the game late in the second half to lift the Monroe College Express men's soccer team to its second-straight victory, a 1-0 shutout of Nassau Community College Thursday evening. The Express improve to 2-1 overall, while the Lions drop to 0-3-1.
Lora's goal came off an assist by
Rasheed Francis in the first half. The Express locked things down defensively for the entire 90 minutes of the game, keeping the Lions off the board for the first shutout win of the season.

Jose Hernandez earned his second straight win and his first shutout with two saves in Thursday's conquest.
The Express are back at it on Long Island once again on Sunday, May 9, when they visit Suffolk County Community College for more Region 15 action. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 36 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports program, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 17 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
