Freshman
Kevon Wiggins registered his third 30+ point performance of the season, tallying a game-high 33 points on 13-of-22 from the field; nailing six three-pointer in the contest. Freshman
Isiah Ryan scored in double figures for the sixth time this season, ending the night with 14 points along with six rebounds, three assists, and a career-high seven steals.
Sophomore
Kevin Benjamin and freshman
Marquel Jackson each scored 11 points apiece. Sophomore
Brayan Lara had six points, two rebounds, and two steals while classmate
Orbis De Los Santos had four points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals off the bench.
As a team, the Express shot an impressive season-high 55.4 percent from the field. The Express 24 turnovers in the contest, converting to 37 points in transition.
The Express return to action on Saturday, Feb. 1 on the road against Orange County Community College at 2:00 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 30 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has 11 varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
