BRONX, N.Y., March 5, 2019 – Due to inclement weather causing unplayable field conditions, Monroe Express baseball's home opener against Sussex County Community College on Friday, March 9 at Dick Caswell Field in New Rochelle, N.Y. has been canceled.
In addition, the Express' doubleheaders against Orange County Community College on Saturday, March 9, and Ulster County Community College on Sunday, March 10 have also been canceled.
The Express will be back in action on Tuesday, March 12 when they host SUNY Sullivan at 3:30 p.m. at Frozen Ropes in Chester, N.Y.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 28 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has nine varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
