SELDEN, N.Y., February 14, 2019 – The Monroe Express women's basketball team fell to the Suffolk County Community College Sharks, 57-37, on Thursday. With the loss, the Express drop to 9-17 (7-6 Region XV) on the season, while the Sharks move to 14-6 (8-4 Region XV).
 
The Express trailed 33-12 at the half, but fought back with a 21-point fourth quarter. However, the deficit would prove to be too much to overcome, as the Express fell, 57-37.
 
Jacqueline Jimenez led the Express with eight points, while Maryam Camara recorded a season-high 19 rebounds.
 
The Express will look to bounce back on Saturday, Feb. 16 when they take on Queensborough Community College at 4 p.m. at the Monroe Athletic Complex in New Rochelle, N.Y.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 29 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has nine varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
