New Rochelle, N.Y., December 5, 2019 – In a Region XV tilt, the Monroe College Express men's basketball team was upended by No. 5 Nassau Community College on Thursday night, 82-64. The lost drops the Express to 4-5 overall this season and 2-4 inside conference play.

Freshman
Adonis Robinson added 12 points, five rebounds, and two assists in 22 minutes played. Sophomore
Kevin Austion chipped in 12 points, three rebounds, and two steals off the bench. Freshman
Isiah Ryan posted eight points and five rebounds in the loss. Freshman
Dedrick Watson led the Express with seven boards off the bench.

Sophomores
Loquan Deloatch and
Eric Goodman each scored six points each while Deloatch had four rebounds and two steals and Goodman had five boards. Rookie
Kobe Daniels added six points and three rebounds of his own while
Kevin Benjamin poured in five points.

Nassau had six players record 10 or more points led by Patrick Gardner's 15 point effort.

The Express struggled from the field in the game, shooting 31.3 percent in the contest. Nassau outrebounded Monroe,pulling down 48 rebounds compared to the Express' 42.
The Express return to action on Saturday, Dec. 7 with a trip to Columbia, Maryland to square off against Howard Community College.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 30 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has 11 varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
