Columbia, MD, December 7, 2019 – In a non-conference contest, the Monroe College Express men's basketball team fell to Howard Community College on Saturday evening, 79-70.

The lost drops the Express to 4-6 overall on the season.

Freshman
Adonis Robinson finished with a team-high 19 points, nine rebounds, and three steals. Freshman
Derek Smith tallied 17 points, four rebounds, and two steals off the bench. Sophomore
Kevin Benjamin chipped in 10 points and three rebounds in the loss.

Freshman
Dedrick Watson led the Express in rebounding for the second-straight game, ending with a season-high 11 boards, along with seven points.
Isiah Ryan recorded six rebounds, four steals, and two steals while
Loquan Deloatch picked up four points, four rebounds, and two assists.

Howard was led by five players in double-figures.

The Express outshot Howard in the contest 39.4% to 38.7% while the Dragons held a 44-43 rebounding advantage.
The Express return to action on Thursday, Dec. 12 in Region XV action against Suffolk County Community College.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 30 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has 11 varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
