GARDEN CITY, N.Y., October 15, 2019 - The Monroe Express men's soccer program dropped their regular-season finale to Suffolk County Community College on Tuesday, 3-1.
The Express end the regular season with a 7-4-1 overall mark and 6-3-1 record in Region XV play.
Suffolk got its first goal in the fifth minute when Emmanuel Kwansah buried a shot into the back of the net to give the Sharks a 1-0 lead.
Suffolk controlled the tempo for much of the first half, outshooting the Express 8-1 and entered halftime with a one score lead.
In the second half, the Express got on the boards at the 46:44 mark.
Elhadj Diallo netted the goal, recording his sixth tally of the season to tie the match.
The Sharks regained the lead in the 72
nd minute as Kwansah scored his second goal of the day.
Suffolk found the back of the net once again in the final minute of play (89:18) with an insurance goal from Jason Baratta.
Emerson Guevara led the Express with two shots in the game.
Kevin Gomez Reyes,
Elhadj Diallo, and
Momodu Touray all had one attempt.

Sergio Servin had a season-high 10 saves in the match.
Monroe's next game will take place in the first round of the NJCAA Region XV Championship Tournament on Saturday, October 19. The time and opponent for the match are still to be announced.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 30 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has 11 varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
