MIDDLETOWN, N.Y., September 15, 2018 – Led by
Mamadou Diombera's four goals, Monroe Express men's soccer topped Orange County Community College, 6-1, on Saturday to move to 2-2 (2-1 Region XV) on the season.
Diombera led the Express with four goals, finding the back of the net on half of his eight shots on goal.
Elhadj Diallo also added a goal for the Express, while
Abdoul Sangare scored on a penalty kick to give the Express a 6-1 lead.
Rockeem Russell assisted Diombera on two of his goals, while
Amadu Jalloh assisted Diombera on another.
The Express are back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 18 when they host Bronx Community College at 4 p.m. at Flowers Park in New Rochelle, N.Y.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's rugby, and the newly added club women's rugby team, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of Monroe's Bronx campus has six teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level beginning with their inaugural seasons in the fall of 2017.
