NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y., February 3, 2018 –
Briyanna Graham's triple-double, the first in Monroe Express women's basketball history, wasn't enough as the Express fell to Dutchess Community College, 62-56, Saturday at the Monroe Athletic Complex.
With the score tied at six midway through the first quarter, the Express opened up a 15-4 over the next 5:55 to take a 21-10 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Dutchess responded with a 14-6 run of their own to close the gap to just three with 5:02 to play in the second quarter, but Monroe closed the half on an 11-2 run to take a 38-26 lead into halftime.
Tatyana Forde led all scorers with 16 points at the break, including 14 in the first quarter.
But after the Express opened the third on a 12-6 run, the Falcons went on a 22-0 run to tie the game and take a four-point lead with 6:22 to play in the fourth.

Ariana Jones and Graham tied the game with just over four minutes to play, but the Falcons pulled away, ending the game on a 5-0 run to take home a 62-56 victory.
Jones led the Express with 18 points, adding 11 rebounds for her second-career double-double, while Forde finished with 16 and eight rebounds.
Graham tallied the first triple-double in program history, with 11 points, 13 rebounds and 14 assists, but fouled out with under a minute to play.
The Express are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 10 when they take on Harford Community College at 4 p.m. at the Monroe Athletic Complex.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's rugby, and the newly added club women's rugby team, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of Monroe's Bronx campus has six teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level beginning with their inaugural seasons in the fall of 2017.
