BRONX, N.Y., November 20, 2018 – Monroe Express women's basketball fell to the No. 1-ranked Hostos Community College Caimans on Tuesday, 80-26. With the loss, the Express drop to 2-7 (1-2 Region XV) on the season.
The Express trailed by just four at the end of the first quarter, but Hostos outscored Monroe, 16-4 in the second to pull ahead 27-11, heading into halftime.
Hostos extended their lead in the third, before pulling away with a 34-point fourth quarter for a 80-26 victory.

Julie Trowers and
Tatyana Forde each tallied six points for the Express, while
Maryam Camara recorded an unconventional double-double with 10 rebounds and 10 blocks.
Following Thanksgiving break, the Express are back in action when they head to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on Tuesday, Nov. 27 to take on Dutchess Community College at 6 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 28 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, and the newly added club men's volleyball team, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
