BROOKLYN, N.Y., January 20, 2018 – The Monroe Express women's basketball team fell to Kingsborough Community College, 73-49, on Saturday, dropping to 6-7 on the season.
Though the Express led 29-28 at the half, the Wave bounced back to outscore Monroe, 21-8 in the third quarter and 24-12 in the fourth quarter to pull out a 73-49 victory.
Tatyana Forde led the Express with 20 points, while
Briyanna Graham joined her in double digits with 12. Forde and Graham also led the Express on the glass, each tallying nine rebounds, while Graham also added six assists.
The Express return home to the Monroe Athletic Complex on Tuesday, Jan. 23 to take on the Borough of Manhattan Community College at 6 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's rugby, and the newly added club women's rugby team, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of Monroe's Bronx campus has six teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level beginning with their inaugural seasons in the fall of 2017.
