BROOKLYN, N.Y., January 20, 2018 – Down by three at the half, the Monroe Express men's basketball team rallied to defeated Kingsborough Community College, 55-47, to win their second-straight and the fourth in their last five games, moving to 7-11 on the season.
 
The Express trailed, 29-26, at the half, but battled back to outscore the Wave 29-18 in the second half and take home an eight-point victory.
 
Gian Batista recorded his fourth double-double of the season, leading the Express with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Jessy Jimenez and Louis Florimon added 13 and 12 points apiece for the Express, who shot 36.2 percent from the floor and 38.1 percent from beyond the arc.
 
The Express return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at the Monroe Athletic Complex against on the Borough of Manhattan Community College at 8 p.m.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's rugby, and the newly added club women's rugby team, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of Monroe's Bronx campus has six teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level beginning with their inaugural seasons in the fall of 2017.
