SELDEN, N.Y., October 14, 2017 – The Monroe Express men's soccer team scored early and late to win their eighth-straight, 2-0, over Suffolk County Community College, moving to 8-3 on the season. 
 
Fresh off a hat-trick against Rockland Community College, Mamadou Diombera gave the Express the lead just two minutes into the match. The Express held the 1-0 lead till the 87th minute when Michael Portillo put Monroe up 2-0 with a goal of his own. 

The Express wrap up their regular season on Thursday, Oct. 19 against the Monroe College Mustangs JV Squad at 4:00 PM EST at City Park in New Rochelle, NY.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's rugby, and the newly added club women's rugby team, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, will have six teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level beginning in the fall of 2017.
