Diego Lojano joined the Monroe College - Bronx men's volleyball program as an assistant coach in November of 2023. He was born in Cuenca, Ecuador.
While being raised in Cuenca, Lojano attended Tecnico Salesiano High School where he played volleyball from 2014-2017 and won four state championships. After he moved to New York City, he attended Peekskill High School during the 2017-18 academic year.
Lojano played volleyball for the Azuay State program, the Ecuadorian youth national team, and the United States youth national team.Â
The Cuenca native has earned several awards playing volleyball including Best Volleyball Player of Ecuador (2017), Best High School Volleyball in the State twice (2015 and 2017), Best and Most Improved Athlete in the State (2016), Future Talent of Ecuador (2016), Best Spiker of Ecuador (2015), and best Beach Volleyball Player of the State (2014).Â
Lojano graduated Manhattan College in May of 2023 with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering degree with a minor in business administration.Â
