Tom Kovoor

    Volunteer Assistant Coach - Men's Soccer
Tom Kovoor joined the Monroe - Bronx men's soccer program as a volunteer assistant coach in August of 2024. He has over 20 years of soccer coaching experience.

In Kovoor's first season in 2024, he helped the Express earn a 9-4-3 record, a No. 6 national ranking, and the third seed in the Region 15 Tournament with an 8-2-2 record against regional opponents. He coached Chrismonor Eugene who was named the NJCAA Division III Offensive Player of the Week and was selected to the All-Region 15 first team. Xcaret Gonzalez and Jonathan Lima landed on the All-Region first team and second team, respectively. 

In addition to his coaching duties with the Express, Kovoor also serves as the head coach for the Greenburgh United Soccer Club, a position he has held since 2018.

Prior to Greenburgh, Kovoor was the head coach of the New York Soccer Club from 2016 until 2018. His other soccer coaching stops were FC Westchester (2012-2016) and the White Plains Family YMCA Youth Soccer Development Program (2011-2012), the latter in which he was responsible for the successful implementation of the program. 

Kovoor holds licenses in premier coaching and youth coaching.

A resident of New York City, Kovoor earned both his bachelor's degree (1988) and master's degree (1991) in computer science from Hofstra University. In 1994, Kovoor earned his degree in Health and Physical Education/Fitness from New York University.
