Luis Nieves joins the Monroe Express men's basketball coaching staff ahead of the 2020-21 season.
Coach Luis Nieves is a 16 year veteran of law enforcement. Nieves began his coaching career as a founder of his travel AAU program New York City Chargers Adidas Gaulet silver program, which he has coached for the past nine years. He is also the assistant director of the New York Select AAU program, and development coach and freshman head coach for one of the top high school Nike elite programs, Bishop Loughlin High School, which he coached to the CHSAA quarterfinals. He also served as freshman head coach of Eagle Academy of Staten Island High School. Nieves helped several players make their college decisions and helped them develop into strong role models.
