Anthony Gonzalez Jr. was promoted to assistant coach of the Express baseball team in September of 2023 after spending the previous season as a volunteer coach. He assists with all aspects of baseball operations for the program.Â
Under Gonzalez Jr.'s leadership as a coach, the Express advanced to the Region 15 Championship Round three times (2023, 2024, and 2025). He helped Monroe - Bronx win 30 games during the 2025 season and earn 31 wins in 2023.Â
During the 2021 and 2022 seasons, Gonzalez Jr. played with the Express and was an important part of the NJCAA Region 15 Championship team in 2022. He was a utility player, playing every position during his two years at Monroe.
Prior to Monroe University - Bronx, Gonzalez Jr. played four years of baseball at Fannie Lou Hamer Freedom High School.Â
Gonzalez Jr. is a graduate of Monroe University, earning his bachelor's degree in sports management in 2022.
