BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The nationally ranked No. 8 Monroe University – Bronx men's volleyball team earned its second consecutive victory on Monday evening, this time defeating Harcum College in straight sets at Klein Hall Gymnasium. Set scores were 25-22, 25-17, and 25-16.
The Express advance their record to 4-3 overall, while the Bears drop to 1-1.
Leading the way for the Express was
Darren Lopez who tallied 10 kills, eight digs, two service aces, and just as many assists.
Steven Francis Ouellet had a strong outing with seven putdowns, four digs, and three blocks.
Frandie Martin had a monster match with five successful attacks and just as many blocks.
J'Adon George produced four kills and five blocks.
"On the way, we did some scouting,"
Darren Lopez said. "We performed in-game, it was a great match, and we gave it our all."
Also helping the Express was
Johnnovan Reyes who notched a team-high 22 assists, while adding three digs and a pair of aces.
Pedro Bello Lopez anchored the defense with 10 digs to tie a match high.
Edwin Ortega had two blocks, a kill, and a service victory.
David Garcia provided four digs and three assists.
Rogelio Guarneros notched two aces and a dig, while
Fidel Ramirez scored a kill.
The Express will host Atlantic Cape Community College on Thursday at Monroe Athletic Complex. First serve is scheduled for 8 p.m.

The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
