NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The Monroe College – Bronx men's volleyball team concluded the regular season with a Region 15 loss to Monroe College – New Rochelle, in straight sets, at the Monroe Athletic Complex on Wednesday evening. Set scores were 25-8, 25-12, and 25-12.
The Mustangs (23-5, 8-0 Region 15) led from wire to wire in each of the three sets. With the win, they clinch the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Region 15 Championships. The Express (1-20, 1-7 Region 15) will compete in the Region 15 Tournament Play-In match on Tuesday evening. Opponent, location, and time are to be determined.
Leading the way for the Express in their match against Monroe – New Rochelle was freshman middle blocker
Jeremy Rivera-Aponte who slammed home three kills and provided five digs. Classmate
Marvin Culmer also had three kills, while first-year setter
Wiltor Cubas provided six assists and five digs. Rookie middle blocker
Mickey Mingo added two kills and four digs.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
