BRONX – The third-seeded and nationally ranked No. 10 Monroe University – Bronx men's soccer team will host sixth-seeded Suffolk County Community College in the quarterfinal round of the Region 15 Tournament on Saturday, October 26. The action at Flowers Park will begin at 1:00 p.m.

The Express finished the regular season with an 8-2-2 record in Region 15 play (9-4-2 overall). The Sharks went 7-3-2 in the region (7-3-4 for the season).
Monroe and Suffolk County tied each other in its head-to-head meeting during the regular season, 1-1, at Ammerman Campus Soccer Field, back on Saturday, October 19.
Leading the way for the Express this season has been sophomore forward
Chrismonor Eugene who has 10 goals and nine assists so far this year, the latter in which ranks him No. 1 on the program's all-time single season list.
For the Sharks, sophomore Michael Ruggiero netted eight goals and added a pair of assists during the regular season.
This has been an evenly matched rivalry as the Express and Sharks are each 5-5-1 all-time against each other. They are also 1-1 against one another in the regional postseason. Monroe – Bronx defeated Suffolk County to capture the Region 15 Championship on May 23, 2021.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe University marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
