BRONX – The nationally ranked No. 14 Monroe College – Bronx women's basketball team will battle NJCAA Division II Ulster County Community College, at Monsignor Scanlan Gymnasium, on Sunday, January 14. Tipoff is set for 1:00 p.m.

Monroe – Bronx (7-6) will look to get back on track after dropping its previous contest to nationally-ranked No. 7 Community College of Rhode Island, back on Thursday, January 11, at Monsignor Scanlan Gymnasium. The Express will be led by rookie guard Daysiah Smith who is averaging 18.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 3.5 steals per game. Sophomore forward Kristina Poitier-Wells is bringing down 7.5 rebounds per contest and has blocked 21 shots so far this year.
 
Ulster County (5-6) aims to snap its four-game losing streak. The Senators will be led by freshman guard Bryanna Sanders and rookie guard Maria Bacigalupo. 
 
This marks the second head-to-head meeting all-time between Monroe – Bronx and Ulster County. The Express won the previous matchup, 72-33, in Stone Ridge, N.Y. back on November 24, 2019.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
