BRONX - The Monroe College - Bronx men's soccer team will play its first road match of the season on Thursday, September 7, against Borough of Manhattan Community College. The Region 15 matchup will begin at 12:30 p.m. at Pier 40.

Monroe - Bronx just fell short in its season opener to Region 15 foe Westchester Community College, 3-2, this past Tuesday afternoon. For Monroe during that contest, second-year defender James Gallagher notched a goal and an assist. Sophomore defender Lorenz Utz registered a goal, while rookie forward Marvyn Baltazar added an assist. First-year goalkeeper Krit Raj Maharjan turned aside 10 shots in his collegiate soccer debut.

Borough of Manhattan opened the 2023 season with a convincing victory in Region 15 action over Rockland Community College, 5-0, at Pier 40 last Tuesday. Sophomore forward Ademola Opesanwo and freshman midfielder Mamadou Diallo each tallied two goals for the Panthers during their statement win.

Monroe - Bronx is officially 1-2-1 all-time against BMCC.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
