BRONX - The Monroe College - Bronx men's soccer team will conclude its three-match Region 15 road trip with a battle against Bronx Community College on Tuesday, September 19. The action at Ohio Field will begin at 4:00 p.m.

After dropping the first two Region 15 contests this year, the Express (1-2, 1-2 Region 15) earned a shutout victory in regional play over Orange County Community College, 2-0, at Chris Chachis Soccer Field this past Tuesday afternoon. Sophomore defender
Lorenz Utz netted both goals to propel the Express to the Region 15 triumph. Rookie goalkeeper
Krit Raj Maharjan stopped all three shots he faced to earn the shutout victory.
This season, Utz has scored three goals for the Express. Second-year defender
James Gallagher has produced a goal and an assist. Maharjan has made 21 saves over the course of three matches in net this year. Freshman forward
Marvyn Baltazar and sophomore midfielder
Khwezi Gema have each helped out with an assist so far in 2023.
The Broncos (0-3, 0-3 Region 15) are looking for their first victory of the season. They have been led by rookies Ashraf Abubakar and Momodou Jammmeh who each tallied a goal against Rockland Community College, this past Thursday evening.
Monroe - Bronx is 4-1 all-time against Bronx.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
