ROCHESTER, MN – After defeating Hostos Community College in the 2023 Region 15 finals to claim their second consecutive championship, Express women's basketball not only claimed the conference title, but clinched the Northeast district and punched their ticket to the DIII National Championship tournament in Rochester, MN.Â
Resulting from their stellar regular season play and post-season success, the Express were given the 4th seed in the tournament, receiving a first round bye and awaited the winner of the #5/#12 game as their quarterfinal opponent. The wait is now over, as #5 Minnesota West defeated #12 Northampton, 85-67, and the stage is set for the Express' first contest in their pursuit for their first DIII national title.
Tomorrow's game between the Express and Minnesota West will take place at 5:00 EST (4:00 CST) inside the Rochester Regional Sports Center in Rochester, MN, and the game will be streamed via the
NJCAA Network ($).

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 35 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 14 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
